also i think concerts becoming more and more of a luxury item is fucked and we shouldnt just like continue to normalize that
Okay but you can literally go to local shows instead of chasing big artists 24/7
i do go to local shows. that doesnt mean that the pricing of larger shows is not incredibly frustrating and inaccessible . and im sick of comments like this.
Also I’ve been going to local shows most of my life, in like 2002 I could go to a local show for $5, in 2023 I could go to a local show for $10, in 2025 a local show costs me at least $27 with fees.
Yeah, big concerts have gotten mind-bogglingly expensive in a way they never were before (I remember $30 for Smashing Pumpkins in their prime) but even local shows and mid level shows have gone way up in just the last few years. In 2023 I could still see bigger metal bands for about $40, now it’s $60 minimum, but typically closer to $80
